Some books are wonderful reads and some are so good, you can’t put them down. If you’re lucky enough, you’ll find books like this one. A book that truly touches your heart and opens your eyes and makes you realize you’ll remember this story for the rest of your life.
The love story was beautifully written and filled with everything I love in a romance. Banter, grump/sunshine trope, angst, hurt and comfort, humor, communication, and hot steam. But what made this book stand out is not just the disability representation, which I found to be written with care and attention to detail, but the amount of insight I got out of it.
Something the book makes clear is that even with the most love and best intentions, people can hurt those with disabilities by not truly hearing them or seeing them, what they need, and who they are. The world of disability is so nuanced and everyone’s journey is different. I won’t pretend to know what that’s like. But I did learn valuable lessons (without feeling like I was being “taught”) on the mindset of someone with a disability and how to consider the world from their perspective.
Kristen also handled the topic of grief so well too. Charly was strong, and sweet, and optimistic. But her pain from losing the person who meant most to her was palpable.
I adored Bryce and Charly, as individuals and together. They were fleshed out and self aware but still flawed humans. And don’t get me started on Bea. We all need a Bea in our lives! All of the characters were engaging and felt “real.” The little world Kristen created at the inn was one I wish I could hop into.
I recommend this book for so many reasons. I couldn’t put it down, I loved the characters, I loved the deep themes and the way the author tackled them. But most of all, it was just a beautifully written love story that gave me hope. And I can’t ask for anything more.

The communication is SO hot! The spicy scenes mixed with open and vulnerable communication are......*chef's kiss* there are no words. They're beautiful. The whole book is beautiful.

Reading this made me laugh out loud, it made me cry, it made me so happy I cried , there were a lot of different kinds of crying......a box of tissues is recommended.
